Social media warriors have been bashing Tiwa Savage for saying a man is the head ‘at home‘ as per God’s design and so, she doesn’t think women and men are equal in a recent interview.

For the life of me, I don’t even know why her statement is upsetting people. Especially because it is her opinion.

When we are talking about equality, I don’t think people really understand what it stands for.

A summary of equality is just saying both women and men are entitled to equal opportunities, pay, education and much more.

However, in a family setting or as Tiwa Savage put it, ‘at home’ the man is supposed to be the leader and as a woman you are supposed to trust that he knows what he is doing.
(If you can’t trust a man to lead, don’t marry him).

Of course, it also doesn’t mean the woman is dumb and will have no input on how things are run or on the decisions made, it just means you let him take the lead.

I mean, isn’t that it?

Why are we questioning her statement, and why are people being unreasonably harsh on her just because they are privy to her past struggles?

I am not talking as a fan, but as a fellow woman and human.

Finally, I hope we all get to a place in our heart where we read what we type out again and again before we push the send button.

We must make sure the words we are sending out isn’t going to make anyone sad or angry or discouraged. Spread love and happiness every time.

I hope your week is wrapping up nicely Queens.
TGIF in a bit πŸ’ƒ

P.S – if you are ever going to quote her as a man, don’t also forget the ‘at home’ part.

I once had a colleague who thought it was absurd to earn the same salary as a woman whom they both have same qualification.
Now, that’s ‘abnormal’.
