We added this category to appreciate men that are living their lives as an example to their boys; men who are true Kings.
And on this week is no other than the King of friendship, Adebola Williams.

Just because I am on the road to becoming a better friend and working consciously everyday to show the people that I love, that I truly love and care about them; this post by Kemi Adetiba about Adebola William got my heart.

I couldn’t help but want to be a friend that my friends will know that they can count on.

This also emphasizes the need to create more time for my friends, either physically or even just by placing a call across to them.
(They need to know I am here and I care about them).

Now, this isn’t just me going around speaking about the love I have, but genuinely showing them that I do by supporting their projects/businesses/venture/family.

What is remarkable is that Adebola is as busy as they come, yet he seems to always have time to come through for his friends; because this isn’t the first time I would be reading such a good testimony about him.

According to his Wikipedia page, Adebola Williams (born 1986), popularly known as Debola Williams, is a Nigerian media entrepreneur, journalist, political activist and motivational speaker.

Described as “the man with the golden touch” by Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo, Debola has helped 3 African Presidents get elected.

An alumnus of the London School of Journalism, London School of Marketing and the Pan African University, Debola is a member of the African Leadership Network, a British Council Global Changemaker and Founder of the Lagos Business Braintrust. He sits on the boards of Slum to School Africa, was the former chairman of Enough is Enough and Chairs the advisory board for the Young Entrepreneurs Network.

He has won CNBC Africa Young Business Leaders awards.

Here is what she wrote about him:

I’m about to get back on set right now but let me first tell you about my friend @debolalagos. I tell him to his face that he embarasses friendship. Debola is one of those people that will go out of his way to “show up” for you. He is one of the most thoughtful and sensitive men I have ever met. I tell him his dance card is full because he takes his time making stops to everyone’s event or be there for anyone that needs him. Adebola can call you just to pray with you. The man is never in the country but will call you from holes in the world to check up on you or make you feel special. Debola has never visited me without bringing something. I’m talking in my house oh… No cameras, no nothing but he MUST come with ice cream, or yogurt or heavy packs of food. Anyone that knows him well, I’m sure you can attest to this. So, when Debola sent a message saying he wanted to visit me on set, I was already touched by the thought. He sends another message asking how many people were on set and I knew where his brain was headed to. I asked… Cast and director or everyone including crew. He says EVERYONE. I said “Ha! Debola, on a light day we are about 80 oh!”. Instead of 🙆🏽‍♀️ Yey! As I expected… He asked “Where are you shooting from?” I told him we are like a traveling circus, moving everywhere so depends on the day, but for the next 3 days we are shooting in Sangotedo… That’s when I got my first YEY 🙆🏽‍♀️ from Debola 🤣🤣🤣🤣 He then said “The Lord is able!” If I tell you my boy STRAIGHT FROM THE AIRPORT (as he was away on business) showed up with COOLERS of food… I mean COOLERS of food. Both swallow and “mede-mede” 🙈 With plates and cutlery ohhhhhhhhh and a special food package for @solasobowale. Ha! Please you people should help me thank this man. Touched or grateful are not adequate words to express how I and the crew feel. It was such a welcome break from crew food. Adebola Williams I love you immensely and God will continue to bless you always. And the seeds you continually sow will always hit fertile land, germinate and sprout into fruitful trees. Thank you for being… Just who you are.

(There is no need for his pictures, he wears the same white native and red cap any wear any day. So, you would think I posted the same photo if I post more than one).

P.S – I remember when I just started my writing career some years back, he was one of the many people I sent a DM to, looking for a writing job; and it is safe to say he was the only one who responded at that time, even asked his PA to send me a follow-up mail.
He must be a genuinely good man.

Wish him the very best in life.
