Towards the end of 2017 and since the beginning of 2018, I have been asking myself what I was willing to do differently in the early days of this year, to stir my 2018 in the right direction.

I want so many things to change so bad, but I also know that wanting them to change so bad, will not change anything.
They will only change if I am willing to try a couple of new things and improve the good old ones.

One of the things I have decided to do is taking time off social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Gossip blogs) for the whole of this month – January 2018.

The purpose is solely to have a genuine reset and pure mind to think through what truly matters and needs to be done in 2018. I don’t want to be influenced by the many media noise, be distracted or discouraged.

With the help of Kindle, I have downloaded 5 books that I intend to read this month; and they include romantic fiction, historical non-fiction, religious and career books. They are chosen to help my blogging knowledge, inspire my career in screen-writing, boost my faith walk and so on.

I intend to do a lot of soul searching as regards how to be better in all I do; and how to be a better person. This particularly includes giving more time to people I really care about, andΒ I also want to make sure I am open to new people and ready to let go of the old ones who are toxic.

I need to do a proper audit of what I am gaining and giving to each friendship/relationship and decide how much I am willing to keep receiving and giving to them.

Also, I am going to do a lot of praying, listening, writing and studying the bible as well.
Believe it or not, the spiritual world controls the physical; and I would want to be in a great place with God.

Another thing that I have struggled with in the past is discipline.
The ability to stick to a plan no matter how I feel.

I intend to put that to test this period, and make sure I understand that I can be disciplined.

I am hoping that all the information I get from the books and from God, will be put them into practice in order to make me work harder and smarter to make this blog useful and loved by every type of woman.

Of course, it won’t be easy, it’s day 2 and I already feel sick without fidgeting with my phone, but I have also realized that discipline is needed. I have also found out how much I need to manage my time better, especially because of the ample time I spend on social media platforms.

My business is online, but it is not an excuse to live online. It is a marketplace, I need to realize that and stick to the time plan.

This is how I am starting my 2018.
I just need to help my mind realize that I am not playing games in 2018. No time for mediocrity. I need GOD and I need to WAKE UP as well to put in the required work.

How is your year going?
Remember that to get a different result, you must be ready to try different things. Nothing will change if you remain the same.

I will give an update at the end of the month on how the process has helped and is helping me.

Have a great week ahead.
