You know this sentence; “Whatever makes your soul happy, do that?” Yep, that is not a sentence I want to live by (again). I think it’s an extremely selfish way to live.
While I understand that we all need to think of ourselves selfishly, sometimes, I think that sentence can drive it up a notch.
There is no way that one can always do what makes them happy without having regrets later in life.
I was thinking to myself the other day that if I did what makes me happy every time, then a lot of people are going to be unhappy.
That’s just because I know myself, and how I am quite different in the way I approach things or think of things.
And while it’s easy to say who cares about people, wait until the people who will be unhappy are the people you care about.
I think if anything, in 2024, I want to learn how to be happy without being selfish.
Maybe it will be a mistake, but at least I want to try to see how it is to want to balance my happiness with that of others around me.
This is specifically a big deal for people like me whose life-happy decisions are entangled with that of others.
Surely, there has to be a way for everyone to be happy.
Let’s find out! God help me.
